between wilson
representing the classical tradition
of evolutionary macrobiology

and james 'double helix' watson
as the insufferable young turk

dismissing wilson's classical tradition

until the introduction of mathematical models
for sociobiology

rehabilitated that tradition

and i see a parallel
with the classical approach to the
unification of the sciences
