Visualising energy

human body = one gallon per 8 lbs
12 gallons per 100#
60% water = 7 gallons water per 100#
16% fat = 2 gallons fat per 100# (16#, 7kg)
22% protein = 2.6 gallons protein per 100# (22#, 10kg)

3.8*10^4 joule = energy in gram of fat
2.7*10^8 joule in 7kg

1.7*10^4 joule in gram of protein
1.7*10^8 joule in 10kg

4.4*10^8 joule in 100# body

4.186*10^3 joule = 1 Calorie
1 kiloCalorie per pound in human body

3.6*10^6 joule = kilowatt-hour
100 kW-hr per 100# body
half a microgram of antimatter [cite]

1.5*10^10 joules in a ton of wood [cite]
40 100# humans

10 tons per tree?
400 humans

1.74*10^17 joule = solar energy worldwide per second
400 million 100# humans per second
10 million tons of wood
1 million trees

10^36 photons/second [cite]

10^14 joule = solar energy trapped by photosynthesis per second [cite]
(10^33 photons or 0.1% cite)
20 million 100# humans per second

4*10^26 joule = energy generated by fusion in Sun per second [cite]
10^20 kW-hr (100 quintillion)
8*10^19 100# humans per second?

Best animated doppler comparison

looking over the various available
animated doppler weathermaps
(easy to miss hidden features)

msn is the surprising winner
with a 6-hour loop
that requires only one click
beyond the url-bookmark
('doppler radar' under 'animated maps')

wundergound
has nice detail
but limited animation

weather.com
very limited animation

accuweather ditto

weather.gov uses java
again very limited

intellicast
is very feeble

m&mworld

replace each human with an m&m

color each m&m
according to its philosophy

when their philosophy changes dramatically
their color changes as well

some never change, from birth

some share their parents philosophy

some don't

healthy whole personalities are represented
by whole m&ms

broken and wounded personalities
by broken m&ms

the tragedy of being broken
is normally blamed on another broken m&m

.

Language molecules

whether they're dna or not
there have to be molecules in the brain
that embody specific words

so someday a visualisation
will be able to sort the whole thesaurus
into specific brain regions

down to the level of specific molecules

so life events
are continually
verbalised
at the molecular level

.

The geometry of ego

1st dimension: every human (in a line)

2nd dimension: the same (at 90 degrees)

at the intersections
the relationships of human to human

A's relationships to B, C, D...
B's to A, C, D...

|
D| * *
C| * *
B| *
A| *
+-----------
A B C D

3rd dimension: every human again

with the intersections
their relations to others' relationships

A's relationship to
B's relationship to A

with ego blindness dominating here

.

The Con molecule

everyone's experienced 'awakenings'
where the Con loses its grip
(as in Carpenter's "They Live")

but always falling back then
to sleep

after enough cycles
of wake-sleep-wake

a pressure-point
may come into focus

thru which the dark cloak
descends

but which can be resisted
standing up against the conformity
of millions of people
over thousands of years

and might this pressure-point
even be a single molecule
or at least a small cluster
in the brain
between the eyes

the ultimate battleground of good and evil

torn between
a state of comfort
and a state of virtue?
